  Vern Vidya..... the sacred knowledge of sounds..... the first subject which was taught in any ancient gUruKul was the knowledge of sounds; how to pronounce the sounds at a specific frequency and that was the part of the elementary education..... and, you see, this is still a part of the elementary education today where the nursery kids are taught the phonetics beginning from "अ, a" to "श्र, shra"..... but, the real frequency is totally missing.....
